About This Spot
Stepping into PHO NGON DAT VIET 2 tucked away on Augusta Avenue, you’re greeted by a calm, airy space that offers a gentle retreat from the bustling streets of Kensington Market. The atmosphere is quietly inviting—a blend of clean simplicity and warm familiarity, where the pace slows just enough for you to settle in comfortably and savor a thoughtful meal. It’s the kind of spot where moments linger as naturally as the aromas that curl gently from steaming bowls and sizzling plates.

From the richly spiced broths to the vibrant bursts of fresh herbs and crisp vegetables, the food strikes a thoughtful harmony between comfort and curiosity. Guests often find themselves drawn to the generous portions, which encourage lingering over bites as much as conversations, and the subtle, authentic nuances—the kind that transport you to a lively neighborhood in Vietnam through taste alone.

The experience is beautifully complemented by little moments like the distinctly flavorful sauces and the soothing ritual of an iced coffee on a bright Toronto day.
PHO NGON DAT VIET 2 feels less like a destination and more like a familiar nook where food is shared slowly and simply, where the joy lies not only in the meal itself but in the space it creates for relaxed, meaningful connections.

my family and I had an amazing lunch experience here. the place is clean, spacious and a fresh of breath air from the scorching heat outside. food is awesome, the beef soup taste so good and everything else just complimented together. but I think my favorite is the sauce that tasted like the humble ginamos (shrimp paste) we have in the Philippines. And of course, the crew were great, prompt, kind and sincere. I highly recommend

Comfy spot in Kensington area. Food is tasty with large portions (I got a medium pho bowl but couldn't finish). Would definitely come back to try their rice dishes and hopefully dessert as well cause they both looked good!

Everything on point! As a Vietnamese, I’m proud to have this place with my name in it! I got the special vermicelli noodles with grilled pork, spring rolls(perfectly crispy ), grilled pork sausage, beef roll w/ herb leaves. Amazing combination and GIANT portion! It was a pleasant Toronto day so I had to combine with an iced coffee. A must-try if you want authentic Vietnamese food If I’m back in the area, I will definitely stop by again!!!

We are very new to these dishes and we wished we could learn more about each before ordering. That said, the food was absolutely delicious.

Went with two buddies, food was outstanding. We had a great time. Had the 3x protein Pho with extra noodles.

the food was great! The portion is super huge. The staffs are so so nice. They were playing music and I asked them if we can customize the song list and they gave the tv remote to us. It was pretty late so the store was quiet but then it’s super chill and relax. It’s a hideaway from bustling downtown and enjoy a bowl of phở!

Had the spring rolls and bun cha Hà Nội. Food tasted great. Service differ in that, there’s not the usual table check in like you’d find at western restos. But if we need and ask, we get. So I have no issue with the service, it’s just a matter of knowing where you’re at and adjusting expectations. The spring rolls were good but a bit on the greasy side. Had to use tissue to absorb the excess oil. Couldn’t finish the verm dish. It’s a good portion. I’d come back again :)
